Quick Weekend Bike Happenings

Just a reminder, but we have a big ride coming up this Friday (5pm on the UT West Mall):

LEAP YEAR CRITICAL MASS!

If you subscribe to the frivolity of the Gregorian Calendar then in just 3 short days you'll be celebrating the existence of that dastardly red-headed stepchild of the modern dating system, Leap Year Day. It's been throwing off alarm clocks, fucking people over on birthday presents and creating great drama in Gilbert and Sullivan musicals since time immemorial (at least in my memory), but now it's actually good for something else...

CRITICAL MASS! That's right, this months Critical Mass Ride just so happens to fall on Leap Day! If you've never gone on a Critical Mass ride before then this is the one to do, as the next Leap Year Critical Mass won't come along again until 2036! So dress up in your best leap year costume, put on your special leap year shoes, and get down and ride with us in the biggest Leap Day party on wheels in Texas!

The weather looks decent so wear layers, bring water, drag a few friends along, leave the shitty attitude at home and come ride some bikes! I'm gonna be trailering my bike stereo this month so maybe I'll actually get to shoot some video footage of all you fine looking biker types. If nothing else we'll have some killer tunes to keep Leap Day hopping.

If that's not enough biking awesomeness for one weekend, this Sunday is also the Cemetery Cats pub crawl. They've moved to a monthly format to save some bucks and get some bigger turnout, but the ride starts at The Jackelope at 5pm and goes from there. They usually hang out at The Jackelope for a little bit so if you're running late don't worry, just look for the big group of stinky biker types drinking lonestar and comparing gear ratios. ;) j/k
