City of Austin closing off portions of greenbelt to cyclists

I was reading over at BikeMojo.com that nearly every side-trail on the Barton Creek Greenbelt has been cordoned off and closed. WTF?!? The city freaks out over the Walnut Creek pump track and now this? You can follow the whole story over in this BikeMojo thread, but it sounds pretty dismal for mountain bikers. Thankfully all the right people are on the case and contacting the appropriate "authority" figures, hopefully this whole mess'll get sorted out before the weather gets too hot and miserable.
