Urban Night Ride, plus free (minor) tune-ups from Tsunami Cycles before the ride
Looks like Brooks just posted the most-recent notice for his weekly Urban Night Ride, which meets at 7:30pm on the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge every Thursday night, and leaves around 8ish. Like a good bike event should. I bumped into this ride last Thursday and it's been getting pretty big, so definitely check it out if you're looking for a decent mid-week group ride that's not too fast or too far, but is a good time nonetheless.
Update: D'oh! I got the following information incorrect the first time around. Check this out for the real deal...
Also, Brooks clued me into the fact that Tsunami Cycles is going to be doing free minor tune-ups this Thursday before the ride. They'll be set up on the bridge with the gear needed to do basic adjustments and such. Don't expect them to re-build your loose ball-bearing bottom bracket or anything, but if you're going on the ride and your bike is kinda creaky, look for Chuck, Dave or Jim of Tsunami Cycles and watch them work their magic.
P.S. Though they're doing this for free, I'm sure they'd appreciate tips or free beer nonetheless...
for Tsunami Cycles. This is the first place I take my steeds when something seems awry. they always seem to be quick to troubleshoot and their prices are really reasonable. they are probably the most repair-friendly shop in the city, in my opinion. they have small used parts on almost ANYTHING, so go over there if you need to buy some extra parts to finish your latest project.
