21st Street Co-Op Bike Shop gets some GREAT press!
I meant to post about this earlier but got side-tracked: Yesterday the newly re-built 21st Street Bike Shop got a front-page story in the print (and web) edition of The Daily Texan. Nice!

It's so heartening to see news like this in our fair city. As much as I'm loathe to admit it there's been a huge void left since the main Yellow Bike Project shop was closed down, which has only been partially filled by the Treasure City satellite shop stepping up its' hours. In the meantime, if you have a 9-5 and you want to work on your bike in a free shop, unless you can get out there after work Friday or mid-day Saturday, you're out of luck. Thankfully, two other shops have sprung up in the past year or so to fill the void. Both the 21st Street shop and the Orange Bike Project have been doing an admirable job of taking up the slack. OBP is open from 6-9 on Thursdays for those working stiffs amongst us, and once the new 21st Street shop is completed they plan on opening it at least two days a week throughout the Summer. Great news for all the DIY Austin cyclists out there, thanks y'all!
Will, Thomas, Chris, Tom, you guys freaking rule in my book! Next time any of y'all see one of the coordinators from these new shops out and about, why not buy 'em a beer for doing their part to improve and support the local community.
Thanks for the post Jason,
I'll let you know when we set a date for the June opening party, ought to be a proper bash.
Will
