Hey y'all, you may have noticed something... different. If you look up at the top of the page, chances are about 5 in 6 that you're staring at a different banner image than you usually do. That's right folks, we've started using some of the banners that y'all have been so kind to come up with. I really dig the submissions so far but I want MORE of them! Here are the wherefores and how-tos of the whole competition:
Who: All the amazing artists that read ATXBS
What: ATXBS banner/graphics competition
When: From now through the end of the month. I'll be adding them to the rotation as soon as I get them, so please send them to me ASAP!
Where:: Submit all banners and graphics to Holla@ATXBS.com. Thanks!
Why: Because I'm a cheap bastard who can't afford to hire a graphics designer, nor do I have any skill with pen, pencil or paintbrush. And because y'all are awesome.
How: I don't care how you create it, as long as the finalized product is in either .psd or .jpg format and is 970x200 pixels if a banner or as close to print quality as possible if it's something else. Honestly I can take other formats and convert them, but those are the best. Painting, drawing, photography, collage, all mediums are acceptable as long as they come to me in electronic format. If you need copies of the logos, here's where to get them:
Because I've received so many awesome non-banner images, I'm opening up the competition to images of all kinds as long as they include the ATXBS logo, site name, URL, or something tying it to the site. You can dig through the gallery of submissions for ideas, but so far people have submitted re-drawn logos, dope looking badges, posters of freaks, and all sorts of other good stuff. Multiple entries are also ok, though you can still only win once.
Finally, I figured it was high-time to announce the prize...
That's right folks, a limited edition Selle Italia "La Fausto Coppi" Saddle, straight from the 80s; and one of you badass artists is gonna get to plant your ass on it. Talk about a rare gem, until I'd picked this one up I hadn't even SEEN one before besides the one on this bike. Good luck finding another one of these ANYWHERE! Now lets see those submissions...
I was about to order a new saddle when I saw this. Time for some all night fractal and photoshop sessions.
that's the prettiest schwinn i've ever seen. and my hijab-saddle is about ready for retirement, so i better fire up the ole illustrator and win me a new butt-holder.
