Fast Folks Fixie Ride

Earlier this afternoon the Fast Folks people posted the following event notice to Craigslist:

Where Fast Folks bike shop, 2513 E. 6th, Austin, Tx.
When : Thursday , 4 June 2009 5:30 pm.
Why: To ride your fixie fast, have fun with friends , make new ones, and have a blasted good time afterwards!

Hello fello fixe riders !

Fast Folks is hositng an afternoon fixie ride.!

We will meet at Fast Folks bike shop for a 20 mile loop aroung the outer limits of Southeast Austin. We will depart at 5:30, 5:45 at the latest and head south on Pleasent Valley. We will go towards Mckinney State Park on Mckinney St Pkwy, and loop around on William Cannon and back on Knuckels Crossing rd. This route will constist of very few lights, long straight-a -ways, simi-country scenery, and lots of bike riding fun! This will be a casualy dressed ride so bring your fixie, your friends and their fixie, your bags, and good attitudes for a good time afterwards!

As long as their biking isn't as atrocious as their spelling this sounds like a hell of a ride. I used to ride those routes when I worked in that part of town, and it's real nice. Smooth roads, low traffic, not many lights and a whole lot of green and trees (for Texas at least). It's pretty rad.
