Midnight Moonlight Tower Tour 2008 - Update

I know I'm posting about this one waaaaaaaay early but I went on the last one of these they did and it was freaking incredible. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 3rd. I don't care if it's your birthday, it's your wedding anniversary, it's the birth of your firstborn child, be on this ride! You're 40 days away from one of the most kickass group rides of the year so you might as well go ahead and start preparing yourself for the awesomeness right now.

Holy shit the Moonlight Tower Tour is only 3 days away! Get on it!

In case you're wondering what I'm all amped about, it's the Spring Midnight Moonlight Tower Tour. This ride starts at the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge around midnight SATURDAY NIGHT (aka riding INTO Sunday morning) and from there we hit EVERY SINGLE STANDING MOON TOWER in town. I think there's 17 of them and they're scattered all over Austin so it's a trek, but it's well worth the miles and each one of them is a party in and of itself. Some of them we stop at for a beverage and a breather, some of them we just cruise by, but we get to see 'em all. There's music, freak bikes, crazy lights on bikes, and most importantly/hopefully, all of y'all! The group rides have been massive lately and this is the most notice I think we've ever gotten for something so get all your friends out and ride this one! The next day is a Sunday so hopefully you can sleep off the hangover/muscle ache afterwards.

Being a midnight ride, make sure you bring flashy lights, a patch kit if you've got one, snacky foods (with no or easily disposable wrappers), and some choice tasty beverages. Being May the weather should be 60s-70s at night, so I don't think jackets'll even be necessary. Oh shit I can't wait for this ride.
