A cool chick named Rebecca told me about this event on Critical Mass, but I'm just getting around to posting it. It happens a month from today, so you've got plenty of time to get gear together. May 3-4 there's going to be a ride out to The Hundred Acre Woods for The Mixed Media Shower. Here's the info from their event site:

What is "The Hundred Acre Wood"?

The Hundred Acre Wood is a new event space located 20 miles east of downtown Austin in Manor, Texas.

On May 3rd they are hosting a Mixed Media Shower Arts and Crafts fair leading to a night of camping under a meteor shower. Local artists will be showing and selling their work during the day beginning around 3:00 pm. Booths will be filled with one of a kind paintings, jewelry, clothes, ceramics and other fine arts. Food will be available from local vendors.

Feel free to bring your kite, GPS and disc golf discs. Geocaching and scavenger hunts will be setup as well as disc golf and croquet.

Festivities will continue into an evening of live music, dancing, and outdoor movies. This will be followed by a late night of laying out on stargazer platforms to watch the meteors fly. Telescopes will be provided by the UT Department of Astronomy.

Everyone is invited to pitch a tent, and camp overnight.

In the morning there will be an option for breakfast, mimosas, and yoga lead by Yoga Yoga before the ride home.

More information about The Hundred Acre Wood is available at the following website. www.thehundredacrewoodevents.com

As they said above, please RSVP.
