Walking/Cycling Festival of Arts and Culture
Ah, bike month. Now's the time I start hearing about all the nifty events that'll be transpiring while the City pretends to care about bikes for a few weeks. I went to this last year and had a ball. The highlight was filming silt-walkers in the bicycle/walking parade at eye level from a tall-bike. You don't get to do that kinda thing every day...
When: Sat, May 17, 3pm – 6pm
Where: Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina St.
For the second year, the Austin Bike Zoo, Theatre Action Project, and Yellow Bike Project are hosting a community celebration for all ages. At 4pm, the Mobile Carnival begins. Cruise the neighborhood, learning about local culture, art and history. At 5pm, the celebration continues at the Historic Victory Grill with more bicycle fun, music, food. Come explore one of Austin's favorite historic venues.
