Sunday Bike Polo - The one with the missing persons?

This Sunday around 2pm(ish) at the regular locale a bunch of polo players should be kicking each others asses on the tennis ball courts, drinking beer on the sidelines, and heckling from both sides of the fence. Unlike the usual polo Sunday, several familiar faces are probably going to be missing. What's the deal, you may ask. Are Rob and the crew just slacking? Say it ain't so!

Well, it ain't. If you're a regular reader of Ye Honorable Austin Texas Bicycle Polo Social Club World Wide Web Log, A Chronicle of Gentlemanly Gamesmanship and Honorable Conduct (ok, maybe the name's not that long but it seems like it) then you know that several regulars have been chewing bubblegum and kicking ass out-of-state. Last weekend they went to NOLA to kill it in an informal tri-state pickup game tournament. This was more of a preparatory event for the big Atlanta Midsummer Invitational happening this weekend, but from the sound of things the ATX boys cleaned up, showing that superior ball-handling skills (heh) and more controlled manipulation of the mallet will win the day over brute pounding and high-sticking. Speaking of Atlanta, it sounds like Jordan, Dan Nicely and Rob are going to be headed out that way this weekend to compete in the three-day invitational tournament, win fabulous prizes, drink beer, race the alleycat, and hopefully bring home some gold and glory for the ATX.
