Keith just sent me word on what's happening at this Thursday's Urban Ride. Check this madness out:

This Thursdays Urban Night Ride will be fun and games... literally. We're following the Colorado River (on streets not path) East to Metz Park, right behind the Holly Street Power Plant. There we will stop, chill and engage in some friendly biking competitions. There will be prizes awarded. There is also a nice smooth covered basketball court for some tricks if you are of that brand of cyclist. Bring your own refreshments and supplies for this stop. There will be shade, but it will be hot. After we have had enough of the fun and games, it's time to get down to the serious business of free beer. This week, the Scoot Inn has invited us to come hang out for some beer in their killer outdoor space. After we drain the kegs they are treating us to, which it seems you all can do in your sleep, there will be some nicely priced drinks to be had. There will be room to bring your bikes in. As always, you must have a valid drivers license and be over 21 to get into the bar. If you haven't been to the Scoot Inn, you are in for a treat. Here is the route we have planned. This ride is about as flat as you can get, so if you don't like a little pain with your pleasure, this is the ride for you.

Sounds like a crazy time, and a little different than the previous social rides. I'll have to check this shit out. If you're going and you're of the facebook persuasion, you can RSVP here. It doesn't get you anything besides the ability to talk shit about the other RSVPers on the event's wall.

and Keith for putting the word out.

Social Cycling ATX

what the hell...let's play polo there? eastlake? leave a sign at eastwoods..let's try it! tell them all..target the reivers! somebody fire! derek

There is plenty of room for that at Metz.

If not, we're going to take everyone to Eastwood to see a Thursday evening match sometime soon. Rob is making some more mallets so when we go up there, we can have two matches going at once for those Urban Riders who want to try it out.
