This 4th of July the local insane mountain bike peoples are going to be out riding the Barton Creek Greenbelt in the early AM. Check out the ride notice posted on Austin Voodoo:

Come on people, tradition!

Anywho, here it is: 20+ mile of trail, semi-social pace ride. Not too social, 20+ miles. Expect climbing lots. Early, to avoid the scorching heat, and complicating afternoon plans we all may have. Bring extra water for the ride, snacks too.

Place: Why BCGB, from Taco Deli, of course.

Time: Wheels down at 8:00am

Beer: yes

Wheels down 8am means that's when they leave, so be there on time. They're not fucking around about the water or the snacks. Bonking on a mountain bike ride is NO FUCKING FUN, and unlike roadies when you're dead on the trail you can't call someone for a lift if you don't want to ride back. Also don't forget your brain bucket. It should go without saying for a ride like this, but having to deal with someone else while the helicopter shows up to fly their ass out because they knocked themselves senseless is a bunch of bullshit too. Follow the words of the Wu and PROTECT YA NECK!

And head.
