I almost busted my ass recently due to a 'traffic control' planter installed at the intersection of Davis St. and Rainey St.
Not a bike lane, but it has to be one of the more fucktarded ideas that the city has come up with.
... the dumbest I can think of is Great Northern Blvd.
The road really wasn't wide enough for a proper bike lane, so they put two bike lanes on one side of the road, one for each direction. All this on a road that doesn't really need bike lanes in the first place. And yet once you ignore the bike lane, it's a great road for biking ...
It's the dumbest I can think of in Austin, though I'll bet it's not even in the running nationally.
