A big round of applause for EVERYONE!
I just received some excellent news about the most-recent addition to the ATXBS Stolen Bike Registry:
good news - someone picked up the bike on the side of mopac and parmer, waited for the police to come, then took it home. he turned it over to the police on Sunday, and when I called the evidence room this morning, they had the bike. While it is at the bike shop getting evaluated, it appears just to be a shredded grip and the seat cover is kind of torn off. I am lucky, lucky, lucky. even my lights are still on and working. the funniest part is that the tag from my bike bag was still attached and flopping around - it was truly a new bike.
I wanted to share this with you after your comment about the police department efforts to recover/reunite bikes & owners.
Talk about lucky! First off kudos to the unnamed person who recovered the bike and turned it over to the police, secondly thanks cops for hooking Stace up with her bike so quickly! I recently heard horror stories about how long police departments in other cities hold on to stolen bikes as evidence, oftentimes keeping them for months after the owner has been identified. I can't even imagine how frustrating that'd have to be to know where your bike was but not to be able to get it. Great news Stace, thanks for sharing.
Also, congratulations to Jenn and Jessica for coming in 16th out of over 130 teams in last weekend's Urban Assault Race. Way to kill it out there ladies! The rest of y'all better be looking over your shoulder for these two next weekend. Y'all are badasses!
Thanks for the props, Jason!! Now I just have to kill at the next ladies' alleycat!!
Also, very very happy that you got your bike back! Must be a HUGE relief.
