Melissa warns: Caution on Shoal Creek for solo women riders
Late last night (2ish) Melissa sent me the following warning, and requested that I mention it on the site. Though she directed it at solo lady riders, I'd ask all of y'all to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior:
On July 22 between the hours of 10:30 and 12:40 this incident took place. I parked my car on Foster Lane and unloaded my bike, I usually ride with another person, but not this night. I rode down to 2222 and back several times. During this time I repetitively saw this gold/tan work truck driving past me, so I was already a lot suspicious. I watched it turn down a street that cuts back over to Great Northern, so I killed my lights and slid into the half circle driveway almost at the corner of Shoal Creek and Foster and proceeded to see the same truck drive slow through the intersection. I rolled up to the stop sign and took a right just to see the truck pulling into the apartment complex at the corner of Shoal Creek and Foster. It really creep me out so I rode east on Foster and turned by the dumpster to see if he would come back by. After 10 minutes of sitting there I rolled out with my lights off, past the driveway he had pulled into and there he sat. I just continued to my car, took my wheel off and put my bike in the back of the car the fastest I have ever done and jumped in and locked my doors. I turned around and took a left at Shoal Creek heading North. This asshole proceeded to follow me, now I was really freaked out, by now it was 12:35 and the Chevron was closed so I pulled into the Whataburger and he passed but turned at Northcross Drive. I backed out and went the opposite direction. I did pull over and call the police, the dispatch said they would see if there were any officers in the area. I went back to the area because by this time I wasn't scared anymore, I was Pissed off, I was going to get this guys license plate somehow. Do you know I never saw a cop come through. The last couple of nights the cops have been all over that area, even bugged me about not having my front light on. So please give some kind of heads up to the solo female riders in that area.
Thanks

Thanks for the warning Melissa. I roll through there all the time, and definitely be on the lookout for this truck.
