Bicycle Film Festival Program 5: The BMX Goodness

Saturday's third program (fifth in the series) for the Bicycle Film Festival is all the good BMX shit, which means you get 2 shorts and the Premiere of I Love My Bicycle: The Story of FBM Bikes. All y'all 20" fiends should be there for this premiere, as if the film is half as good as their products I expect it to be FREAKING AWESOME. In reaction to big business BMX companies in the early 90's, 17-year-old Steve Crandall started a company of his own called Fat Bald Men (FBM). What began as selling t-shirts out of a backpack has turned into one of the most well respected DIY bicycle companies around. Through fortune and misfortune, the film follows FBM through their 15 years of mayhem as told by Crandall and the rest of the BMX bicycle community from close friends to influential icons like Dave Mirra and Mat Hoffman.

All the Bicycle Film Festival films are being shown at 501 Studio, at the corner of East Fifth St. and Brushy St. I know it should go without saying but LOCK YOUR BIKES. Last year some expensive shit was ripped off, and I'm not just talking about bikes. Wheels were jacked, and I believe a seat was taken as well. Secure your shit, your momma isn't going to be looking out for it while you're watching movies and drinking beer.
