BIKE FILM FEST DAY! FINALLY!!!
It's the day we've all been waiting for, the opening day of the Austin Bicycle Film Festival! To start things off there's a big Bikes Rock Austin BFF kick-off party, followed immediately afterward by the August Full Moon Cruise! Talk about perfect timing! Tomorrow and the next day are when things really get swinging, as we have art shows, films, parties, concerts, fund-raisers, races, polo tournaments, BMX comps, and a whole smattering of other bike-related events to keep us entertained.
If you're sitting in front of a computer bored at work (or just bored) and want to do some more reading about the BFF, check out The Austinist's interview with Brendt Barbur, founder of the Bicycle Film Festival. Now in its' 9th year, the BFF is touring through THIRTY NINE CITIES, making their presence known in unique ways at each stop. Be sure to check out Austin's second incarnation of the festival throughout the weekend. A couple friends of mine won free passes to tonight's party, so it'll be nice to see a couple friendly faces there. Tickets to the party are still available, as are festival passes (the best way to experience the BFF), but I don't know for how much longer so if you want to be a part of the madness get on it.
I'll see y'all on the streets. This weekend is going to be epic.
