Update: Jen sent me a flyer for this weekend's bike wash yesterday, but I'm a slacker so here it is today:
Doug has raised an interesting point via email, and that's the fact that Austin is currently under Stage 2 Water Restrictions, which put the kabosh on charity car washes. Should be interesting to see how the Cemetery Cats handle that little snafu.
Next weekend A1 and the rest of the cemetery cats are going to be putting on a bike wash to help raise the funds needed to kick off the Cemetery Cats cycling team! Read A1's brief description below to see what they're trying to do.
August 30 3pm til 8pm, short pub crawl afterwards. Marcos donated a keg of lonestar, it'll be $2 pints, I might buy another keg as well, BBQ including vegetarian stuff, bike wash and waterballoon fight, BYOBalloons and Squirtguns encouraged, we might even sell like 5 for a dollar? All proceeds go to cost of putting it on, our official jerseys, and the rest go to the rides such as tour de cure, ms150, etc. We get nothing but jerseys and helping pay for entree fees and help on ride costs. This is only going to be the first of many, and well have one at each of the 5 bars (bet u don't know about the 5th bar yet?) I'll keep u updated... RIDE ONNNNN!

He told me the location the other day, but I don't recall where it was so I'll await the answer to that question alongside y'all. Turns out this whole shindig goes down at Mugshots! He's also gonna crank out a flyer with more info on it, but I wanted to get this teaser out there to let people know. Summer's been long, your bike's probably filthy, why not get some sexy cycling cemetery cats to clean it for you?
Simple green, rags and bare minimum water usage for rinsing/diluting. Believe me, I don't want to be fined $500 for a charity fundraiser bike wash...

It's a loosely organized bicycle club that does monthly pub crawls on the first Sunday of the month, as well as is affiliated with the Midnight Ridazz rides (lots of crossover between the groups). Several members of the CC have done a couple of the big fundraising rides over the past year and want to actually start up a legitimate club. I don't know too much more than that as I'm not a member, but they're a great bunch of riders and have all put on their share of miles. This could be interesting to see how it goes.
So what's the location of the wash? Do you know it?
the 5th location is unknown to me, but the fundraiser will be at Mugshots on the 30th
