I stopped by Mellow Johnny's after work to pick up a new front light and I was checking out Emily relayed information about a collision she saw earlier that morning. She mentioned checking on the cyclist who was conscious but balled up and uncommunicative. She said that the lady kept going but a cyclist chased her down and made her stop and wait, and that an ambulance and the police were quick to arrive on the scene. When I got to the BAC meeting I saw the following email from Frye with even more information:

I was riding across the Congress St bridge this morning and saw a cyclist get hit at Cesaer Chavez and Congress, the lady was speeding thru a yellow light that bike was crossing(illegally) on the north side of the street heading west. she hit his back wheel and smashed him right to the ground, i chased her car and made her stop not before yelling at her. someone else called the cops and ambulence, and another cyclist made sure he was okay. He was not he layed on the ground the whole time i was talking to the cops, I had to leave to get to work, so i dont know who or how he is.

It was rather interesting hearing the story from two different perspectives that featured the other party in peripheral ways. Sounds like him trying to make the left and not having enough speed behind him, plus her blazing the yellow caused a rather severe collision. I didn't get the name of the cyclist from either witness but I figure this one's going to be in the news shortly, so keep an eye out for more info. Hope you heal up quick, unnamed biker!
