Dallas, TX- Coming off a small but successful first year, the Texas Custom Bicycle Show is moving to Austin for its second year with double the number of exhibitors to be part of the Livestrong Expo at the Austin LiveStrong Challenge October 23-25.
“We are excited to provide a platform to show off locally made, high quality custom bikes at a great venue, the LiveStrong Challenge,” said Glenn Thompson, the organizer of the Texas Custom Bicycle Show and the owner and frame builder of Daltex Handmade Bicycles. “I was happy to be a part of the show in our successful first year and am please to see it grow in size and diversity.”
The show will feature custom builders from all over Texas with styles as diverse as road, mountain, city bikes, and track bikes built from steel, titanium, and carbon fiber. Each builder will have a booth at a section of the Expo reserved for the Texas Custom Bicycle Show with model bikes on display.
“Custom handbuilt bikes are a growing market and movement in Texas,” Thompson continued. “Custom not only offers bikes tailored to riders of any size but unique, one of a kind bikes that break the mass produced, import mold.”
The show will run concurrently with the LiveStrong Challenge Expo at the Austin Conventions Center, Friday October 23 9 AM- 5 PM, Saturday, October 24, 9 AM- 1 PM, and at the LiveStrong Finish Line in Dripping Springs, Sunday, October 25, 8:30 AM- 5 PM. Confirmed builders are Alchemy, Crumpton Cycles, Daltex Handmade Bicycles, Dominion Bicycle Company, Gallus Cycles, Kirklee, Massengill Cycles, Southwest Frameworks, True Fabrication, and Violet Crown Cycles.

Pretty decent list of builders shaping up. I met with Glenn when he came to Austin to scout out locations for the show, and he's got a real vision to take this thing big in the next few years, and for it to stand on its own as a nationally recognized hand built bicycle show. This time around, the opportunity to partner with the LiveStrong Juggernaut was too good to pass up, and the additional traffic and audience drawn by the LiveStrong Challenge will hopefully get a bunch of eyes on some nice, locally built custom frames that might not typically get to see them. Great stuff, I can't wait to see how the show shapes up over the next month and a half.
There has been a Facebook page created for the event for those who want to keep up to date on the show or see cool pictures from the exhibitor.
