Giro de Ghetto Day 2 update, and tonight's the ALLEYCAT RACE! BE THERE!

Yesterday evening I received word about Monday's Giro de Ghetto Alleycross stage from the man with the plan, Brian D. If you paid attention to the schedule, you'd know that yesterday was a rest day but tonight they're back! Read on for the deets:

Hi folks!

I don't have much energy right now so this will be brief. Last night was just as awesome as the first night. Blinding speed, nice humans, and even a little carnage. Just wish the rain I got when I was gathering the barriers @ the end of the night would have gotten there an hour sooner. Was still a GREAT night though!

Anyway - the spreadsheet is attached. Wiley is still killing it, as are Kate, and David. They have their respective Double A caps and are wearing them proudly. Eardie and Kate won the prim laps and will both take home Terrible One sprocket clocks. If I was a greedier bastard, I would definitely snake one of those - they are RAD!!

Ok, so a brief list of thank yous because I keep forgetting:

Thanks Lee for the use of the truck (you should all also thank him, that's how you've had beer, water, and barriers)
Thanks Joe Rich for those clocks!
Thanks Natalie for being the first person to add some reality to the race, but not getting hurt too bad in the process. And for prizes!
Thanks to Annie (and Andrew?) for making those purty caps that the 3 winners are wearing.
Thanks to all the racers for not being pains in my ass, except Daniel. Man, that guy sucks! hehe Kidding.

That's all I can think of right now. There are and will be more.

Next - tomorrow night is alleycat race. I expect a zillion people for this one. Don't let me down. If you've been racing - bring a friend. If you haven't raced yet - get on that shit! This is neither rocket science nor le Tour. It's fun on bikes that isn't TOTALLY centered around drinking. You will have fun or your money back, I gare-ohn-tee.

So yeah - 8 pm. Lamar Ped Bridge. Bring the following:

- $5
- a Bag (if you're in the Sloner class - make it the biggest bag you can find!)
- a Bike
- a Lock
- a Pen
- all the other shit it takes to be self-sufficient (tube, patch kit, pump, etc.)
- Money beyond the $5 if you want to drink after the race

That's it for me for tonight. Have a good night folks. I'll see you tomorrow.

Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race.

Damn Brian, sounds like you've really got this shit on lock down! If you want to read some reports from the actual racers themselves, you should cruise on over to James' Cyclebum Blog, or read Daniel's tales at Thy Neighbors Bike. From the sound of thing there've been lots of thrills, chills, and even some rather nasty spills! Hardcore points definitely go to Natalie for being burlier than her bike, which actually snapped in two. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! What kind of bike did you ride again, Natalie?
