Late last night I received a flyer for an eco-oriented bike ride happening mid-week:

Here are a few words from the organizer, regarding the event and how it ties into a bigger, global happening:

I'm organizing a bike ride for this Wednesday, Dec. 2, set to leave from the UT campus around 5 pm. The ride, titled "Bike for the Climate," is part of a week of climate advocacy organized by Oxfam UT. We want to both raise awareness about and rally people around the UN climate talks in Copenhagen, set to start next week. We'd love to have a big presence from the Austin biking community at this event!

Thanks for the heads-up on the ride. If you love the climate, are DYING to wear your fancy new green suit on a bike ride, or just hate 110+ degree summer months, show up and ride! They depart the UT West Mall (think Critical Mass meeting place) around 5pm this Wednesday. If you want to know more about these cats, check out the Oxfam UT website.
