Wednesday Night Road Ride #22 - Cold and fast, just like you like it.
Tonight at around 7pm Daniel Sato is going to be leading the 22nd iteration of his weekly Wednesday Night Road Ride, which departs from Drungo's Icehouse on the corner of 29th and Rio Grande. Here are all the relevant details for you speedy types, or those of you who aren't there quite yet but desire to push yourself towards improvement:
There it is again, that dreaded "drop" word! People have asked me about the "friendly drop" aspects of the rides, and here's what Daniel has to say about it:
Back at Drungo's once again! I'd like to clarify our "limited drop" policy, which I've called "friendly drop" in the past. Basically, we regroup fairly often, so if you can keep the group in sight, we won't leave you behind. We also regroup at the end of any particularly difficult stretch, so don't worry about being abandoned halfway up Mt. Bonnell.
The flipside, is that if the pace is too much for you, and you're ready to drop out, we'd really appreciate it if you'd tell us! If at all possible, stick it out until the next regrouping stop (it won't be far!) and say goodbye, or at least tell someone near you that you're leaving. Nothing bums us out more than waiting around for someone who doesn't eventually show up. On particularly challenging stretches, we've been known to send people back to look for stragglers, which REALLY slows the ride down.
See? Nothing to be scared of. This is easily the most approachable "road" ride in town, so if you want to get your feet wet and aren't quite ready for Austin Tri rides, show up tonight and give this one a shot. Thanks Daniel!
