Yellow Bike Party was out of control!
I should have posted earlier but the Yellow Bike bash was fucking killer! Some decent bands, some I didn't care so much for (but plenty of others seemed to dig it), and lots of cool art to look at. My favorite stuff to check out were the oldschool flyers and posters from about 30 years of Austin bike events. Full Moon Cruze, Critical Mass, LOTS of bike-in movies, Yellow Bike Events (including a flyer from their FIRST birthday party) and all sorts of other local bike history. It was really great to see, what with being a relative newcomer to biking around Austin and all. There were also an alleycat beforehand but I missed out on that. Cloyd took first place and I'm not sure of the rest of the rankings but way to tear it up dude! At the party there were some Gold Sprints, and I managed to pedal away with a brand spanking new Dura Ace 9-speed cassette. Well worth the price of admission!
For all of y'alls viewing pleasure, here's a video (shot by Megan) from the event of our good friend Zach's Queen cover band, doing Fat Bottomed Girls:

Outside the main event the crazy kids of the Comal House put on an equally entertaining bash in its own right. By bash I mean there were lots of crashes and spills. Tall bike jousting, fat guy bike pull, tube toss and I'm not sure what else they had going on but it was a whole lot of fun. I did some tall bike jousting and managed to go down in a pile for my first joust before getting into the swing of things and staying upright for my next two. I also pulled off the furthest distance on the fat kid pull so I got some trophies out if the deal. Pics as soon as my camera stops being a punk bitch...
