SkelliCyclists present: All for Santa's Love bike Scavenger Hunt TEAM DRAWING PARTY!
Lots of news about this event (well, group of events) has been bouncing around facebook and various other internets over the last couple weeks, something about an epic Christmas-themed Scavenger Hunt being run by one of the most fearsome bike gangs in town, the SkelliCyclists. Well, here's the dirt on the leadup to the event, as well as the pre- and after-parties:
Join us for the skellies team drawing party for the upcoming biking scavenger hunt event! SUNDAY DECEMBER 6th at Thunderbird Coffee Bar, 2200 Manor St.! Starting at 5pm! All Skellies will bring 2 canned food donations to gain entry in our live drawing! ... and $5 if you get drawn to participate. Come enjoy Free Beer! and witness the start of an epic event! and then Sat DEC 12th Pre-Party at Fast Folks at 9pm ... then the biking scavenger hunt on Sun DEC 13th at 2pm with the After-Party at Iron Gate around 7pm! Win Prizes and Biking Glory! Who will emerge victorious between Disgruntled Elves and Renegade Reindeer?
UPDATE: We will be adding extra spots for non-skellies to spice things up a bit ;)
This is a battle fueled upon unprecedented holiday hatred. Things are not always as they seem when you recall the lovable adoring tales of Santa's workshop told to you during your naive childhood. Over countless generations of suppressed anger from within the North Pole have finally come to a blazing boil between two of Santa's own most revered working classes.
Pitted against one another in a friendly fierce ATX city-wide biking scavenger hunt, Disgruntled Elves and Renegade Reindeer battle it out for all of Santa's love. Once and for all, to see who will prove to be victorious or who will be destined to be either reindeer porridge or ground elf meat used to fill reindeer feed bags.
Remember folks, this Sunday is only the TEAM DRAWING party! That means if you go expecting a scavenger hunt, you'll be sorely disappointed. Though this event is mainly a Skellie-only affair as far as the hunt itself is concerned, they do have a few WILD CARD positions open, which will be filled by a couple lucky cyclists that show up to the party. Nice! Hell, free beer and chilling with a badass crew of bikers is enough to hold my attention.
The Skellies are by far the most active "bike gang" in town, hosting rides, parties, camping expeditions, and most recently, working with Meals on Wheels to deliver food to needy folks via bicycle. NO SHIT!
Candace and Brooks being AWESOME
You peeps are badass! Thanks for helping give us scumbag cyclists a decent name around Austin...
"bike gang" - lol
What an awesome write-up. Can't wait for the festivities!
