Keith just got the info on tonight's Monday Heavy Metal Fitness Ride posted to facebook, so here are the details for you metal head types that want to pedal your asses off:

Ok Metal Heads, it's Monday and time for the Heavy Metal Fitness Ride. This week will be our last ride for just a bit. The Heavy Metal Fitness ride will undergo some maintenance and come back even more awesome than it has ever been. Expect new routes, new leaders and a format that will allow riders of ALL levels to participate. Don't stop riding though, because once it all starts up again, you will need to be on top of your game. Stay tuned for an announcement for our return. Now for this weeks details...

The Heavy Metal Fitness Ride departs the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge, Monday’s at 7:30 pm. SHARP. Expect a reasonably fast pace, covering 20 – 25 miles on an urban route in the dark. Afterwards, it’s to the Jackalope to enjoy free beer, heavy metal madness, half-priced pizza and happy hour ($2.00 wells) all damn night.

Ride what brung ya. Road, mountain, bmx, cruzer, fixie, whatever. Metal Fitness is an equal opportunity ride and not limited to roadies.

Last time I heard, you’re mother won’t be attending, so you’ll need to bring water, LIGHTS, tube changing necessities, a lock, your id and TIP MONEY if you’re drinking. You might even check the route map: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Timaeus-Heavy-Metal-Fitness-Route

SPECIAL SAFETY NOTE:
I wear a helmet as the ride is fast, urban and in the dark. Yes, it’s a Heavy Metal ride but we rather you didn’t bang your head. Last week there was a rider whose melon is still in one piece because he was wearing a helmet. He is a good rider, just a victim of circumstance, darkness and speed. His helmet was cracked, but his brain is ok due to the fact he was protected. So for the time being, I will leave it up to you Metal Heads to make that decision for yourselves. You all will be aware of and assume the personal risk of riding fast and in the dark. If you choose not to wear a helmet that is your decision and responsibility.

See you at the bridge!

That's right, this is gonna be the last Heavy Metal Fitness Ride for a little bit, so if you want to get in on the action you better do it TONIGHT! 7pm on the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge is the place to be, as they leave at 7:30pm SHARP. Bring your fast bike and be prepared to pedal, as at times the pace on this one gets hectic. Don't worry though, there'll be a group to catch you if you drop.
