NOBODY presents: The RENEGADE Heavy Metal Fitness Ride!
Update: We gots a flyer and some words from Lizzie:
Hello everyone! The official Heavy Metal Fitness Ride is taking a few weeks off, but a few of us are still going to ride the usual routes.
The ride departs the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge, Mondays at 7:30 pm. SHARP. Expect a reasonably fast pace, covering 20 – 25 miles on an urban route in the DARK. Afterwards, it’s to the Jackalope to enjoy free beer, strange movies, heavy metal madness, half-priced pizza and happy hour ($2.00 wells) all night long.
This week we are headed to Mt. Bonnell. Study the route:
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Heavy-Metal-Hills-Version-4-1The essentials: You need LIGHTS, plenty of water/fuel, tube changing necessities, a lock, your ID and TIP MONEY if you’re drinking.
SPECIAL SAFETY NOTE:
I wear a helmet as the ride is fast, urban, potholed, and dark. Yes, it’s a Heavy Metal ride but we rather you didn’t bang your head. We have experienced a few accidents on this ride; luckily, most were wearing a helmet and damage was minimal. You all will be aware of and assume the personal risk of riding fast and in the dark. If you choose not to wear a helmet that is your decision and responsibility.See you at the bridge!
Damn, I'm gonna miss it because I plan on hitting up a mechanical bull at Trophy's, but tonight's route is gonna be the HILLS! Have fun out there y'all, and thanks for keeping things rolling Lizzie and Brian.
I just read on Lizzie HannaBADASS's facebook page that even though Keith and Clif are taking a holiday break from running the show, there's going to be a RENEGADE Heavy Metal Fitness ride tonight, same details as usual. That means y'all meet on the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge at 7pm and leave at 7:30pm SHARP! This is a fastish and longish ride, so bring a zippy bike and be prepared to haul ass at points. I went two weeks back and had an AWESOME time so if I can pull myself away from remodeling the ATXBS HQ, I'll cruise down there on Blucephalous and try to keep up.
how about showing up to my ride and giving us some evidence of y'alls' training regimine?
