Wow, what a week. The time between Christmas and New Years (and beyond) has been one huge blur of biking awesomeness. I've gotten to drag my way overkill stereo around on a lot of varied rides, probably piss off a lot of people, and have had a hell of a time doing. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, Monday morning beckons and with it the real world claims my 9am-5pms once again. BUT, tomorrow night (or tonight if you want to get technical) is one last hurrah, the Dropout release party! And what's a bike party without a bike ride beforehand...

Hey Social Cyclists. I'm thinking we should start the year out with a ride and a little party. This Sunday we are planning to do just that. The Dropout, Austin's only bike zine in print, is having a party for their issue #2 release. The Lone Star will be flowing.

WHEN AND WHERE: Meet at 7:00pm this Sunday, January 3rd at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge. We will be taking off around 7:30.

WHAT: A nice ride around town with a stop or two if we feel like it that ends at Fast Folks for a party. Bring $5 for a copy of issue #2 and a raffle ticket that gives you a chance to win valuable prizes. The Lone Star will be flowing until midnight.

HOW: Social Cycling ATX rides as traffic not against it. We stop at red lights and stay in one lane. We let cars pass. Listen to your ride leaders. They great people with your best interest in mind.

WHAT YOU NEED: Helmets are always a good idea, but we will leave that for you to decide. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety on Social Cycling ATX rides. Other than that you need LIGHTS, a lock and some money to buy issue #2 of The Dropout.

The ride/party for issue #1 was a blast. If you are looking for a nice cruise and a few brews with fifty or sixty of your good biking friends this Sunday evening, come join us in supporting the Austin bike community.

See ya'll at the bridge!

If you've been missing our boy Keith then this'll be the ride to wish him a Happy New Christmahanakwanzika on, so be sure you're there! 7pm on the bridge, and if my legs are feeling it I'll try to bring a bike stereo or sometihng. You know, whatever.

Any one headed out to bike polo today before the ride? http://atxbpsc.blogspot.com/
