Social Cycling ATX presents: Thursday Night Social Ride + SKEEBALL TOURNAMENT! Oh shit!
Ok people, tomorrow night's Social Ride is going to be a little different this time around. Again. The past month or so the Social Cycling ATX crew has been having fun with the rides, ending them at parties, using guest ride leaders to take us on new, uncharted courses, stereo bikes, holiday-themed rides, and a whole mess of other wacky stuff to keep us on our toes and having fun. Well, this week's ride will include something not entirely bike related: SKEEBALL!!!
Hey everybody. So Thursday is the night of the BIG GAME. It's going to be epic. It's sure to be exciting, with lots of great play. The competition will be intense, but in the end there can only be one team standing and that team will be the champion... of the first Social Cycling ATX SKEE BALL TOURNAMENT!
WHERE AND WHEN: Thursday January 7nth, 7:30pm at The Scoot Inn (map: http://tinyurl.com/ydjm5ka). We ride at 8pm.
WHAT: We'll hang at the Scoot Inn for a bit then we'll take off and ride an all new route that is bound to please. After we are though riding we will go back to the Scoot Inn that will be providing some free Lone Star and happy hour all night for Social Cycling ATX's first skee ball tournament. This will be a team competition, so start putting together your teams and practice handling those smooth wooden balls. Prizes will be provided by Ozone Bike Department.
HOW: Social Cycling ATX rides as traffic, not against it. We stop at red lights, stay in one lane and generally make nice with the other road users. Listen to your ride leaders. They are really nice people, have your best interest in mind and will destroy you in skee ball.
WHAT YOU NEED: You will need LIGHTS (seriously), a lock, an ID to get into the Scoot Inn and some dollars for beverages and tips for the bartenders.
SPECIAL NOTE: It is going to be a little chilly. And by a little chilly I mean COLD. Should that keep you inside, on the couch, watching some guys throw around a little brown ball and knock the crap out of each other? HELL NO!!! Just bundle up and be prepared for a ton of fun.
The holidays are over! It's time to get back to the serious business of riding your bike. Get that neglected bike back on on the streets and bring your "A" game to the skee ball tourney.
See ya'll at the Scoot!

7:30pm at The Scoot, we ride in a big circle, then we come back and I kick everyone's ass at Skeeball. And that's how it's gonna go. Stereo bike will be in tow, with less battery weight but the same ridiculous volume. I figure if 4 batteries can last me 12 hours+, two will cover a social riding just swimmingly. Once again, if anyone else has a stereo bike bring it along! I'm sure not everyone loves my taste in music, so if we space things out a bit we can inject some variety into the mix. I've been getting good feedback and reviews on mine so if you want to feel the biker love, build one yourself and tote it on the rides.
