Frankenbike #35 - Cruisers Galore! - Update
Here's the updated information, straight from the horses mouth:
The Theme of this YardBike is 'Austin Cruzin' and I invite you all to break out that old cruiser, go for a pedal, stop by Barton Springs on your way over, then point the beast north, and cruise over to 608 E. 49th Street (between Red River and Duval). Tell your friends.
The featured marque will be Cook Brothers Racing, and a canopy will be set up to display bicycles made by Cook Brothers Racing.
We'll also have a Cruiser Show that is open to all single speed cruisers. Categories will be BMX 26, BMX 24, Beach, Modern, Custom, Peoples Choice, and probably a few more.
Wheelie contest? Bunnyhop contest? You want it, we can do it.
Floval Flyer, Cook Brothers, Kos Cruiser, OM Flyer, Laguna, Boss, Firemans, Powerlite,......these are the fabled bikes of yore that sparked a fire in many of us that still burns today. Good memories of 25 years worth of moonlight cruises, riding to punk shows at Club Foot and Voltaires Basement, late night beer runs, viscous slams, scabs, gusseted frames, smiles, broken cranks and bent rims. But we also live for today and teach our kids how to ride, still reprezent at the Moonlight Cruise, roll with the Wheelieman, rip the singletrack, and live to ride. Carry the torch. Long live Austin Cruzers.
See you on June 28.
Oh damn. This sounds awesome!
