The weekend happenings, a rundown of awesome.
Wow, what a weekend. Impromptu bike rides, SLAYER, LOTS of bike polo, surprise parties at the ATXBSHQ, rampant nudity, hanging out with friends, kickball, more parties... you know, a typical weekend in the ATX. I'm sore as hell but ready to face another week which ends with Critical Mass, the Full Moon Cruise, and an excellent sounding Frankenbike at Rio Rita.
One of the surprise events to happen this weekend but that went REALLY WELL was the Slayer Ride. Despite the 2 hours of actual notice and cheezy mspaint flyer we had about 25-30 people show up for the ride at one point or another, and managed to do our part to improve the content of the bridge party's musical selection.

We also rode around downtown keeping the street hopping, and stopped over at Club Primos to chill and drink the mexican beer for a few while entertaining the locals with the bike stereo. Though this one didn't end with any brawling we did shed blood, get nekkid, break as many of the 7 deadly sins as was possible (by 6am), and I think when all was said and done the amount of mayhem caused did Slayer proud. If you weren't there you fucking missed some crazy shit.
The ATXBPSC 1st Birthday Bike Polo Bash was fucking awesome. Though going 'till the wee hours the night before kept me from waking as early as I'd planned, I did make it out to Bartholomew with enough time to play a few games and beat the shit out of myself on the polo court. I also got to test out my new mallet which held up alright considering how I'd put it together. Gotta work more on that later.
Unfortunately I missed the Skellies Ninja Ride, an act for which I'll be eternally remorseful, but I needed to give my legs a break and chill for a bit. From what I heard this one was 30 miles of decently paced riding, lots of ninja hijinks, copious beer consumption, and excellent times aplenty. Sorry Nam, next time the Skellies ride I'm there. I heard rumblings of nekkid dance party sometime in the future. This true or just the hallucinations of an insane cyclist?
My Saturday evening was occupied by a surprise emergency Feller gathering at the ATXBSHQ. It was a surprise because I didn't know about it until it was underway, and came home to the FFF already assembling. Quarters, board games, home-made philly cheesesteaks, fresh-baked cupcakes, Re-animator, cheap beer and Japanese eel porn. Need I say more?
Sunday was polo all day long. I only made it to the Eastwoods segment, as a ride down to the park off of Manchaca was not in the cards for me but I had a blast crashing, kareening into others, and occasionally even scoring a goal or two. Besides the usual pick-up polo games, that afternoon the team breakdowns for the inaugural 2010 ATXBPSC Polo League were announced, and work out as follows:
FUCK YES. Sorry in advance to the rest of you folks but Jazzy, Daniel and I are gonna slay this competition.
After polo I hit up kick ball and a north campus party before riding home and calling it a day. Covering the city on a polo bike is a motherfucker, but it's a lot of fun. But now it's a new week with more rides, activities, polo games, pub crawls, swap meets, and all the other shit that makes the local community so vibrant, unique, and amazing. See y'all out there!
