Benefit for Mariel Mentink this FRIDAY! BE THERE EVERYBODY.

Today is February 2nd, which means that it's been OVER ONE MONTH since Mariel Mentink was struck and critically injured by a hit-and-run motorist. The driver is still at large, while according to her online progress journal Mariel is conscious and responsive but has a long road of recovery ahead of her. As you can imagine her medical bills are mounting and they'll continue to do so as she rehabilitates with her family in Chicago.

To help somewhat with the financial burden, this Friday the Social Cycling ATX folks are hosting a benefit party at Red 7. The band lineup sounds real solid and it's only $5 to get in, so come check this shit out:

Even if you can't make it out to the party this Friday you can still help by donating online at SupportMarielMentink.com. I expect to see EVERYBODY out there, and if you're not at this benefit you better have a damn good excuse. Not having five bucks isn't a valid excuse, because you can always bum that from another friendly biker. Just be there and show your support for an injured fellow cyclist that could really use our help.
