What a chill weekend...
So due to my injured foot (thanks Stacy Pool fence) I took it real easy this weekend. I biked a bit but not too heavily, and actually DROVE to a barbecue today. My main trip out was the Yellow Bike Human-powered Move that happened on Saturday. I saw a lot of y'alls friendly faces out there which was badass. It's always killer to see a big chunk of the community mobilize and what better cause than our friendly neighborhood free bike co-op? The Austin Bike Zoo peeps outdid themselves with their what can only be described as bicycle Semis. 8-wheeled trailers pulled by a bike with this wacky differential for getting the thing rolling. They'd build up speed downhill with people riding on the backs and then they'd hop off and push to keep it going on the uphills. Other people would leave their bikes at the tops of hills and run down to help out and with their combined effort they kept the bike semis full of frames and gear rolling. Everyone else with a trailer pitched in where they could. I managed to load mine up with tools, office supplies and crankarms. Good times.
I did a couple rides around the neighborhood with my wife, including one on which I re-split open my foot. I guess I've got another week before I'm hopping on the brakeless fixed gear again. Resisting on the pedals makes my cut not happy.
I totally missed ALL the races this weekend. How'd all that turn out? Any good spills?
Finally today we said goodbye to Dookie and ate some meat. Good barbecue y'all! Glad I could help out and provide the tunes.
Good chill weekend all around. See you kids at Critical Mass on Friday! 5pm on the UT West Mall! RIDE NAKED!
The races were pretty awesome this weekend. On Saturday, I camped out on the corner of 2nd and Guadalupe and saw a couple of bicycle pile ups. Somebody's face got landed on and he came up spitting blood and teeth. Pretty gruesome. On Sunday, Tyler Hamilton, former Tour de France rider and olympic gold medalist (stripped of his titles because of steroids), got beaten by one of our local racers. Pretty cool.

i am sure over the next week you will start seeing more pictures and videos pop up.

I dunno. I was the heavily tattooed guy on the blue bike with the video camera, and will put some video together as soon as I stop being lazy...
Yeah, I know. I met you @ the moon tower ride. I'm red bearded (just mustached now) and ride an old white raleigh.
I think we talked about something.
