Russ of Path Less Pedalled has been periodically emailing me about their cross country journey by bicycle, and as of about a week ago has landed in Austin, TX where they've been sampling the local bike life and giving presentations on what they're doing. Here's the info on one that happens next week at Freewheeling Cycles:

With the success of our REI presentation (despite the madness of SXSW), we’ve decided to put on another presentation in Austin! We’ll talk about our trip, but also specifically about S24Os. This presentation will be more of a tutorial on the basics of what to bring. We’ll have our bikes and gear and talk about what has worked for us. If you’re interested in how to go camping with your bike, you should come to our presentation.

You’ll be able to buy food from the Good Bike Cafe and we’re working with Freewheeling Cycles to create bike camping packages! Please email us if you plan to attend so we can get a sense of the attendance. We’ll have access to a projector and screen and will show some bicycle touring shorts as well.

Be at the corner of 24th and San Gabriel at 7pm next Wednesday to check this out. You can get the full details on their tour blog,as well as read about their trip so far. This looks to be seriously informative so if you have an interest in bicycle touring you should make it a point to be at Freewheeling next week.
