Eeyore's 47th Birthday! RIDE YOUR BIKE to the party.

This Saturday is that most hallowed of Austin traditions, the 47th Annual Eeyore's Birthday! A day when we can all pretend that we're living in the Austin of the 70s, get nekkid, smoke dope in front of cops, and live free as long as living free doesn't include bringing our own beer or putting up a tent...

4/16/10 Update: The park & ride lots are at the state parking garage "E" and lots 3 & 8 on Colorado between 16th and 17th streets where shuttle busses will pick you up!!! Also it looks like there will be some significant rainfall this coming week so be sure to check the official website for updates. There is also an information hotline set up at (512) 448-5160
If it's raining on the 24th, or if the park is too muddy, the party will be held on the rain date (5/1/10).

Eeyores Birthday Party is a fund-raiser to benefit non-profit groups in Austin. These groups will be selling hot and cold food (including vegetarian), soft drinks, juices, spring water, and Texas beer. Look for commemorative Eeyore Birthday Party T-shirts.

•Please wear a costume. There will be costume contests and other games with prizes for children of all ages.

•Artists will be doing face painting and temporary tattoos.

•Musicians playing non-amplified instruments are invited to play.

•There will be Maypoles for the young and young at heart.

•Come join us and wish Eeyore a Happy Birthday.

Don't even think of trying to park at the Park.

There will be NO parking available at the park. Please take the bus, ride a bike, or walk!

The Capital Metro bus # 338 stops at Martin Luther King and Lamar and runs until 11:00pm
There are FREE park & ride busses at the state parking garage "E" and lots 3 & 8 on Colorado between 16th and 17th streets where shuttle busses will pick you up!!!
NO bottles, cans, or coolers will be allowed in the park.
Please keep all dogs on leashes.
An ID will be required to buy alcoholic beverages.

If you drive a car to this event YOU'RE SO STUPID! Just take a bike! Makes EVERYTHING easier. No lines, no parking, no waiting for a bus, just cruise on into the park, lock your shit up (seriously lock your shit up) and get loose! Eeyores is the best eye candy all year, so be sure to dress up, ride a cool bike and bring your freaking camera. And 'dro. You'll be glad you did.
