April Full Moon Cruse - The Cruise being led by the Cruse, with cerveza and comida at the end!
Sorry for the late notice, but as all things ridiculously fun and bike-related in Austin, sometimes things pull together at the last minute, like tomorrow night's Full Moon Cruse. Though the official word from the facebook page is short...
bring your bikes beers and buds to the bridge night of the 27th (tuesday) for the next full moon. keep it safe, bring lights, follow the moon and im sure we'll have a blast!
I've got a few more details to share with y'all. For instance, thanks to the awesomeness of one of our recumbent-riding regulars (Jay, of the yellow 'bent) we're going to have 2 kegs and some delicious BBQ waiting for us at the end of the ride. No shit, brew and grub. For all of y'all. Be sure to thank the folks involved when getting down on all the free goodness.
Meet on the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge at 11:59pm Tuesday night, and since it's a weekday and the stores close 1 minute later, be sure to stock up on all the supplies you need before getting to the bridge. Follow Mr. Cruse who knows the route and controls the moon, and you'll do alright.
If you've never been on a Full Moon Cruse, imagine one of the weekly social rides only faster, with less stops, near complete disregard of traffic signals, a whole lot more fun, no "ride leaders" yelling at you to stop, start, wait, but above everything else these rides are imbued with what I can only describe as a communal spirit of adventure. Seriously, there's a charge you get on these cruises that cannot be matched anywhere else. When you're looking down on the city in all it's sparkly glory, surrounded by a pack of fellow cyclists with the stars and moon above and the mass of humanity below, it's a beautiful thing.
