Yellow Bike Project GRAND RE-OPENING! - Yesssssssss!
I'm sure many of you know this already, but the long-awaited re-opening of the main Yellow Bike Project warehouse is fucking nigh. As in THIS SATURDAY! Bike-riding workers of Austin rejoice, for you now have a SECOND reason to love May 1st:
GRAND OPENING MAY 1st
Austin's Yellow Bike Project is finally opening the doors to its brand new headquarters facility at 1216 Webberville. From 4 to 8 pm, come check out the new space, talk with volunteers, wobble around with the Austin Bike Zoo, decorate a bike, and enjoy fresh pedal-powered juices and $1 BBQ!LET US SHOW YOU THE WAY!
Terrazas Public Library (1105 E. Caesar Chavez) is hosting a Bike-in Book Swap from 11am to 3pm. We'll be there decorating bikes and helping you beef up your bike's cargo capacity - materials are FREE. And at 3pm, the funky bikes of the Austin Bike Zoo will parade us, with musical accompaniment, to the new YBP headquarters for the grand opening festivities.
Swing by Terrazas Public Library any time between 11am-3pm to get in on the book swap, then ride to the new location alongside the amazing creations from Austin Bike Zoo. Any ride with them instantly becomes a parade, so if you like a mellow pace and TONS of public support, you should definitely get in on this. I've already seen the new facilities and they look AMAZING, so try to get in on this action if you've to any free time at all this weekend. You'll be glad you did.
