Ok y'all I was about to post this event but I need to preface it with something. Who does y'alls marketing?!? I keep looking at your website and I can't help it but think that the Make the Movement Day initiative sounds like something pushed on us by the National Fiber Council and/or the creators of colon blow. But it's not. Could have fooled me.

In reality it's ACTUALLY an event to increase activity and fitness, and in this specific case is ALSO a bike ride being sponsored by several local bike shops, (utilizing the powers of Social Cycling ATX), with an afterparty at Austin Bikes. Read on for the details of the ride, the sponsors, and all the rest of the goodness:

On Wednesday, May 5, 2010 -- Come ride for a more ACTIVE Austin!!

Austin Bikes, Bicycle Sport Shop, Jack & Adam’s Bicycles and Social Cycling Austin are teaming up with the ACTIVE Life Movement to organize a fun, community bike ride as part of Make the Movement Day. Check out the schedule below and come join us for the fun!

6:00 PM
Riders meet at Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge. Get to know your fellow riders and help us celebrate Make the Movement Day with a group photo.
6:30 PM
Head out to enjoy a casual, fun ride.
8:00 PM
We’ll cruise around Austin until about 7:30 PM, then continue the fun with an after party at Austin Bikes (1213 W 5th St) starting at 8:00 PM.
Location: S Lamar Blvd & W Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704

6pm on the bridge, roll around for an hour or so, and then get your after-party on. Sounds chill enough. Ok, back to the hilarity. Just for shits and giggles, here's a bit of the ad-copy from their website:

"Make the Movement Day" is a national initiative designed to encourage everyone to create their "Moments" of physical activity, healthy eating and personal and environmental health that they can complete on their own or with friends, families or fellow workers. To demonstrate their commitment to a healthier America, people are asked to share their "Moments" online at www.makethemovementday.org.

In creating "Moments," participants can do something as simple as eating a healthy lunch or taking a walk with friends, to organizing an active field day for their workplace or planning a day-long litter cleanup at a neighborhood park. "Moments" can be group activities or individual choices, and can last all day or take only an instant. The only requirement is that "Moments" reflect physical activity, healthy eating or personal and environmental health.

They want you to share your "Moments". Are you guys sure this isn't an advertisement for more regularity in our bowel movements? I'm not convinced. Maybe I should take a "Moment" and read about someone elses "Moment", "Movement", or whatever the current euphemism is. Poop. Ok I can't keep going, this is too much. Ride your bike, go to the afterparty, but above all, try and stay regular.

I often like to take a shit with friends, families, and fellow workers. It's a great "moment" of physical activity to share.

This ride's gonna be the shit.
