Social Cycling ATX and a bunch of other people present: El Cinco De Mayo Awareness Fiesta Ride and Party! w/ Tia Carrera!

There's a BIG EVENT coming up tomorrow to celebrate Mexico sticking it to the French in the worst way, and it involves bikes, booze, piñatas, mariachi, raffles, DJs, rock and roll music and lots lots more...

If the piñata bashing pit accompanied by Austin’s own Mariachi Estrella aren’t reason enough to spend your Cinco de Mayo at Encore with us, just wait. Join The Brimmers, Erro Creative, the J.A.M.I.E Group, Amour78704, and many more to celebrate the victory at the battle of Puebla. With refreshments and party favors provided by Top Dogs Hot Dogs, Café Medici, and various other local restaurants, why not celebrate America's favorite Mexican holiday with tons of other free stuff and cool people?

There will also be a social ride organized by Social Cycling Austin (partial door proceeds to benefit the Austin Yellow Bike Project) that will begin earlier in the day and end at Encore at 8PM when, and where, the party shall commence.

SOCIAL BIKE RIDE WILL MEET @ 7:30 AT THE PFLUGER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
::: WE RIDE AS TRAFFIC!! That means we stop at red lights and stay in the right lane. NO BEING A DICK ON YOUR BIKE. We like your face and would like to see your mandible stay intact. Bring lights, a lock, your own gear (there is no sag support on this ride), a helmet if you like, and of course ... yourself:::

Did we mention free stuff? Or the raffle with a chance to win prizes like a gift certificate to the BC Smoke Shop, free tattoos, and gift certificates to local restaurants? One raffle ticket is included with the door cost, which is $5, and additional tickets may be purchased at $2 each, or 3 for $5 inside.

Headlining band Tia Carrera will be accompanied by other local bands, including The Brimmers, and we will also have a DJ Twist and Shout pumping dance music outside in the piñata bashing pit. You can donate $2 for 2 swings and you get a J.A.M.I.E. Group bracelet. First come, first swing. Proceeds will go to the J.A.M.I.E. Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to Meningitis awareness. Other non-profit sponsors will also be receiving a portion of the donations.

Ride meets at 7:30pm on the Pfluger Bridge, leaves at 8. Party starts 8ish, but the real shit goes down after the bikers get there. For only $5 cover, this is an event not to miss. Tia Carrera will kick your ass and make you cry without ever uttering a single word, and you'll thank them for it. REPEATEDLY. Do not skip out on this event.
