Update from Yellow Bike Project: Webberville HQ NOW has open shop AND volunteer hours!
Pete from YBP just let me know that they've officially announced their shop hours for the new Webberville HQ, and here are the details for all you DIY bikers out there:
After last night's collective meeting, YBP has three weekly shops open to the public for May. Mondays, we have an open shop from 4-8. "Open shop" means that personal bike work is welcome, as is volunteer help of any kind. Fridays (6-10pm), and Sundays (4-8pm), we're having volunteer-only shops. "Volunteer-only shop" means that anyone is welcome, but we're only working for the shop, not for ourselves. That can mean fixing up sale bikes, organizing stuff, doing some light building, etc...
We expect to have more and more open shops in the months to come. For now, we're focusing on getting the space set up just right before we fully dive in. We want this place to run smooth for the next 99 years.
And for those of you that are curious: The Earn-a-Bike program isn't back just yet, but it will be really soon.
Monday, Monday, Monday! Need to work on your shit, do it on a Monday! Otherwise show up Friday or Sunday and get some volunteer hours racked up. Earn-A-Bike isn't happening yet but that's only a matter of time. Thanks Pete!
