Yo!ga Ride! Lets do this.
I JUST read about this event a few minutes ago, which actually makes sense as it was posted today. It's a SUUUUUUUUUUUUPER chill ride around town with a bit of YOGA thrown in! Shit, these days they've got a Yoga for EVERYBODY, so why not get the cyclists in on the action...
Alright guys and gals, let's do this thing. Apologies for the late notice, but we're gonna try to kick this yoga thing off starting TOMORROW!
This class is geared towards BEGINNERS, so if you're hesitant to come because you've never taken a yoga class, please get over it and come ride with us! The idea is to stretch out the muscles we use for riding bikes and strengthen those non-peddling muscles too. Think relaxation and restoration. This is not a kick your ass, twist you into a pretzel type of class. It is understood that you have to get back on your bikes after this and we're not looking to hurt anyone!
What to bring: strap your mat to your back or bike, bring some water, make sure your bike has lights... If you don't have a mat, bring a towel or small blanket. If you have extra mats, help a yogi out and bring them with you.
When and where: we'll meet about 7ish @ Fiesta Gardens, right next to/under the Interstate bridge (if you were at the Thursday Night Social Ride this week, it's the same spot). We're gonna roll out about 7:30ish, do a nice little ride to a spot and stretch it out. We're still working out finding a good home, but for the time being, we're going to head to Givens Park @ the pavilion. If for some reason, it's closed or occupied, we'll wing it and just find a place nearby.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Arnold via facebook.
