Social Cycling ATX presents: Hump Day NOONER Ride - Barton Springs is closed? SAY IT AIN'T SO!
Another Wednesday, another Hump Day NOONER Ride! This time there's a slight bit of sadness as Barton Springs is closed due to vandalism, but it still sounds like a good time so read on for the word of Brooks:
Update: Barton Springs will be closed do to sewage getting into the creek: http://www.kvue.com/news/local/Vandals-cause-wastewater-to-spill-into-cr...
No cool off after the ride.

It's almost that time again and you know what that means, it's time to ride! Last week we went to Bark'n Springs but I did not have the right swim attire, this week I'm coming prepared for an after ride cool off. If you would like to join me and don't want to get your tight jeans or shammies soaked remember your swim suits. This week we will be skipping the coffee stop and heading strait to lunch and then the Springs. Suggest a lunch stop below.
We meet at the bridge at 11:45 am, get to know your fellow riders, ride out at 12:10. Head to coffee shop, stay for 30(not this week) or so minutes and then to lunch. Rides are between 5 and 10 miles. The route is determined on the fly.
This is a no-drop ride, with hills. All levels are welcome. I encourage the beginners to push themselves to keep up and the faster riders to wait up. If your having trouble with the pace please let me or the group know and we will try to adjust it.
Depart: 12:10 pm.
Bring: A lock, a well tuned bike, swim suit, also some spare tubes and tools wouldn't hurt.
Weather Report: High of 90°. Perfect ;)

If you would like to sponsor this or any of our rides contact Keith or I.
You cats know the drill. Meet on the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge at 11:45am, meet the other cats with non-traditional work hours, get your ride on, and enjoy coffee and food while you're at it. Sounds fun. I'll be in my lab. Dammit.
I heard on KUT that it was a Sewage pipe breaking and getting into part of the Edwards Aquifer that feeds the springs. They didn't mention any vandalism.
There's gotta be another place to go swimming. I say we scout a cool off spot.
