Social Cycling ATX presents: Thursday Night Social Ride - The Fresh Up Ride!
Hey bike riders of the social variety, this week the Thursday Night Social Ride has something excellent in store for y'all, namely a bit of extra special love from limited-print bike clothing store The Fresh Up! Read on for the details of this week's ride:
Alright Everyone. The Thursday Night Social RIde is all about bikes, parties, fun... same as every damn week and y'all keep on coming back for more. This week will be no exception I am sure because this week we have the Table Manners Crew spinning, we will have free beer flowing and you will be on your bike riding with all of your friends having a blast.
WHERE AND WHEN: We will be meeting at our newest meeting spot, that grassy area JUST East of I-35 bridge on the North side of the river (Town Lake, Lady Bird Lake...whatever). We meet at 7:30, hang out for a bit then we ride at 8 SHARP(ish)
WHAT: A bike ride. I'm scouting a new route this week. We'll be going to new places, seeing new things, and having a little fun at a park or two. After all of that, we are going to Club Deville (http://www.clubdeville.com/) who is providing us with an after party featuring Table Manners and free beer. If you haven't been to a Table Manners dance party, you have been missing out. Facebook 'em here (http://tinyurl.com/29ogr6kI) understand the beer will flowing courtesy of the Deville, but BRING THAT TIP MONEY FOR THE BARTENDERS THAT ARE POURING IT FOR YOU. NOT KIDDING. Free beer is worth a tip.
Also, local bike shop Clown Dog (http://www.clowndogbikes.net/) will be out there handing out free schwag like t-shirts, spoke cards and stickers. More free stuff! If you are not at this party, just throw your bike in the trash now and go buy a Segway.
HOW: Social Cycling Rides go down this. We follow the traffic laws as best we can. We ride AS traffic and NOT AGAINST IT. That is to say, we stop at red lights, we stay in one lane as best we can and we let cars pass. We are nice to our fellow riders... it's a SOCIAL RIDE. We also don't mess with, harass or do any other idiotic stuff to the cars we share the road with. If you have a problem with that, come see me and I'll explain why this is the case.
WHAT YOU NEED: LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS (seriously, for both front and back of your bike), a lock, an ID if you plan on attending the dance party and TIP MONEY FOR EVERY FREE BEER THAT YOU HAVE.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this week to ride our bikes. Coming soon... a Thursday Night Social Ride swimming party. It's just about that time of year...
See you under the bridge!

Start at Fiesta Gardens around 8pm, finish at Club DeVille. Where they go in-between is known to the ride leaders, and not to me. Have fun folks! Be social, and most importantly, TIP YOUR FREAKING BARTENDERS! No joke, do it.
