Social Cycling ATX presents: Monday Heavy Metal Fitness Ride - RIDE HARD, RIDE FAST, RIDE HILLS!
It's a Monday, time to get your fitness on, metal style!
This week we are taking heading into the hills. No cruiser class this week, unless you want to study the route, take it at your own pace and meet as metal as the rest of the crew at out little afterparty.
WHERE AND WHEN: Pfluger Pedstrian Bridge over Town Lake. Its right next to the Lamar bridge for those of you who know it that way. We meet, hand out cue sheets and give everyone a few instructions... and bullshit of for a bit.
WHAT: The Heavy Metal Fitness ride offers two groups to ride with. The Slayer group, that waits for no one and will ride the hills as fast as they can. We also have the Dio group, that also rides fast, but will wait up a bit at the top of a of hill or two, just to keep the group together. This is not a no drop ride, though. If you find yourself getting left behind, use that cue card and come have a drink with us at the Jackalope Bar (http://www.jackalopebar.com/ where they throw us 100 free pints, half priced pizza, two dollar wells, and heavy metal music all damn night.
WHAT YOU NEED: A GOOD FRONT LIGHT, and a rear one as well. This ride is fast and in the dark. A pot hole would ruin your ride and you might just be banging your head too soon, You need tire changing tool and WATER. You need a lock for locking, TIPS for drinking free beer and a valid ID, I wear a helmet in the metal ride because it is fast and in the dark, I highly advise one but I will leave that up to you. You are responsible for your own safety on the Heavy Metal Fitness ride.
See everyone at the bridge.

***Study the route or be doomed to wander West Austin til the end of time.

If the hills aren't enough to convince you to ride, how about the free beer afterward? Thanks Keith and crew! Y'all rule. 7pm on the bridge. Be there or be late...
