A Missed Connection for a whole lot of us!
Chris Smith just pointed out a Missed Connection posted to Craigslist last night that seems to be addressed to a whole lot of local cyclists...
To all the cyclist boys - w4m - 29 (Austin)

I bet you thought you would open this ad and I would say how hot and sexy all of you are. Unfortunately, I don't feel sexy when you run through red lights at 30 mph. I am on my bike all day every day. If you want the respect of motorists and to diffuse some of the rage they feel towards cyclists being on the road, then don't be a daft prick by running red lights and weaving in and out of lanes. If a vehicle couldn't/shouldn't do it, neither should you. Or you're going to get someone killed someday.
Oh, and by the by - I really don't care WHAT kind of bike you have. If you really are so concerned about how awesome your bike is, you need to get a life.
I am sure women do the same thing, it just so happens that I've only ever witnessed men doing it.
Thanks anonymous poster! Couldn't have said it better myself. Running lights is fun, going fast is fun, but c'mon, watch out for other vehicles on the road. I'm sure you want them to do the same, don't ya? Last week Critical Mass nearly ran a red light right in front of oncoming CYCLIST traffic. What the fuck people? Play WITH traffic, not against it. ;)
it's just that we've seen jason do exactly what this person is complaining about before.... at least i have :)

... I'll bet far more cars run red lights at 30 mph than bikes. It's just too hard for a cyclist to hit that speed without a steep hill to bomb down ...
Had they said 15 mph, I might have gone for it, but 30 mph sounds like an exaggeration.
Jason you sound like a pansy.
