Great ride! + a warning from your friendly neighborhood bike geek

Awesome rides yesterday! I was wondering how many people'd be showing up with the heat and all but we had a good crew that did a killer job keeping everyone together and keeping the ride real chill. We did have one cop give a ticket for corking (I believe), but the mass circled the block, came back and stood in solidarity while the police officer finished his dirty business. Hey, if you're the cat that got ticketed, holla. I'd like to put you in touch with some people that might be able to help. Aside from that we cruised all around downtown, took an extended stop at the capital building (where a guy from the Statesman ran into us), rode a few loops through the circle, and ended up climbing Lamar, cruising through west campus and hitting up The Parlor to refuel. Hey, beer and pizza have carbs! Carbs are fuel!

While I was finishing my drink who cruised on by but the imminently recognizable Annie P Bike Riot! Think lots of anodized color coordination, composite wheels, and less brakes than Cloyd has teeth. (luv ya Cloyd) I'm not gonna get into details on that ride to protect the guilty, but lets just say renegade putt putt, twelve packs, watermelons, northwest park, swimming pools, hot tubs. I believe there were drinks and shows after that but I'm an old man and booked it after the swimming. If you weren't there, you pretty much missed out.

Now the warning: we've had two ticketings in as many weeks for "corking". It seem that when police encounter the rides and we're doing something they don't approve of, they've been specifically targeting the corkers for harassment. Please be careful and stay sharp y'all, us cyclists know what you're doing to help facilitate a smooth and altercation-free ride but it doesn't look like our local police force shares the sentiment. If you see a cop car roll up while you're corking, it might be best to merge back into the mass. Your call, I just wanted to put out a warning.

And now... I'm off to Frankenbike. 48cm frame, here I come!
