Bike Lane on S. Lamar?!? Welcome to BIZARROWORLD!!!
Woah, as of just a few days ago there's now a south-bound (climbing) bike lane on S. Lamar:

P.S. the next person to use the word "green" in ANY context around me is earning themselves a punch in the face. Quit it already, I'm fucking sick of this crap. Assigning something a color doesn't make it earth friendly, unless I can start calling all this faux concern about the planet "brown" because most of it's FULL OF SHIT.
They need to make a better route from 6th and S Lamar to S Lamar and Ceasar Chavez. Going under that bridge is a death trap and carrying the bike over the train tracks is stupid.
If push comes to shove, you can always — or, at least, you could before the construction — head west on Fifth, hop on the Shoal Creek trail, and go UNDER Cesar Chavez to connect to the hike and bike trail. It's a bit of a circuitous route, but it'll probably only add a couple of minutes to your time, and it's a hell of a lot better than going under the bridge or trying to cross when there's a train passing.
