Harvest Moon mishaps.

Looks like everyone had a blast on the ride (yet another missed one for me), but looking at craigslist today, it seems there were a few issues with people being assholes to you guys.

Last night, catching up to the Harvest Moon ride, someone who I do not know was hit with a bottle thrown from the window of a car. He is fine but there is/are some jerk(s) out there going scott-free for an act which is potentially very harmful. A 911 call was made, but, if anything comes of that, my friend who made the call will be contacted and we have no touch with the guy that got hit. So, first, where you at, man? Second, since it's very unlikely that the police will go anywhere with this, keep an eye out for the Texas plates GHS-421 on a post-2000 model white Cavalier and, when you see them, do something safe, creative, and non-harmful to let the driver know that he or she is identified and not appreciated.

--don't flag this post. if the guy who got hit is hurt or needs to take legal action, he needs the cab driver's license plate.

i was stopped in front of a car at an intersection across 6th to block opposing traffic and i saw you get hit by a furious-looking cab driver. the cabbie had white or grey hair and looked older. a few of us got the cab driver's license number, and i hear one guy chased him down. if you're the guy who got hit, i remember you had lime green deep v's, but that's about all i saw. hopefully you're not hurt; i assume you got back on your bike and rode off.

the cab driver's license is 161VPM.

so, here's what you can do:

1. call the city and file a complaint with the license number. the cabs are run by the city, so the driver will likely lose his job.
2. while the cab had a green light, any hit and run accident automatically defaults so that the driver that ran is the one in the wrong. in any case, he clearly saw the ride and shouldn't have been plowing through an intersection full of bikers, no matter how angry he was.
3. you can legally sue the city and probably win. whether or not you were hurt, you still got hit. you can start a case against the cab company - most insurance companies will drop a cab company as soon as something like this comes up, so the driver will certainly be out of a job.
