Help needed in fatal hit-and-run on cyclist
My lovely lady just informed me of this bit of sad news on The Blotter:
The Williamson County sheriff’s office and the Texas Department of Public Safety are seeking the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a Williamson County bicyclist Monday night.
A deputy with the sheriff’s office responded to a “man down” call around 11:50 p.m. on FM 3405 and Young Ranch Road and found the body of 55-year-old Bobby Wierzowiecki, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Authorities said the vehicle struck Wierzowiecki and fled the scene. An autopsy completed today showed that the bicyclist died from his injuries in the collision, officials said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the DPS at 512-506-2800.
These are the stories I always hate posting. For all those bikers still alive, be safe. For the biker now dead, rest in peace. For the asshole who killed him, I hope you live a very, very long life wracked with the guilt of what you did. Ugh.
