Dogtown and Z-Boys (2001)
Rated PG-13; 91 min; Stacy PeraltaThis award-winning thrilling story is about a group of discarded kids who revolutionized skateboarding and shaped the attitude and culture of modern day extreme sports. Featuring old skool skating footage exclusive interviews and a blistering rock soundtrack Dogtown Z-Boys captures the rise of the Zephyr skateboarding team from Venice's Dogtown a tough "locals only" beach with a legacy of outlaw surfing.
We will also have some rare old school decks on display! See www.ArtSeenOnline.com for more Bike-In Film screenings and to view the trailer.
I saw this a couple years ago and it was pretty good. I don't know a damn thing about skateboarding besides how to fall down but it's a blast to watch nonetheless. Check it out if you've got an hour and a half to spare.
